Applications of SDCE blue wool fabric test for color fastness:
- SDCE Blue Wool Color Fastness Tester is azoic cotton fabric with specific fading properties, which vary with relative humidity
- It is used as a standard tool for brightness testing. When the brightness tester humidity is set correctly, it will gradually increase in the same proportion as the brightness standard number 5. The fabric is supplied with an instruction manual for correct setting according to ISO 105 B.
- Size: 15x25cm.
- Wool fabrics are treated with blue dye to produce different shades of blue wool, with wool number 1 having the best light fastness and wool number 8 having the best light fastness. Typically, garments will be at least grade 4 while grade 6 will be used. These are used in the ISO 105 B test series and can use the same type of humidity control to test the machine.
- To complement our Blue Wool Standard range, we also supply specially prepared mounting tags that are completely free of any optical brighteners. This ensures that mounted specimens are easier to grade as the tags do not show significant colour changes. It is widely recognised that the colour of the background can influence how an item is ultimately graded.
